Wooden Life Hall

In 2020, the building was reborn again as the Wood Life Hall, a museum store that brings wood aesthetics to life with products and experiences showcasing the beauty of wood art and the unique characteristics of Daxi.

Craftsman Story House

Built in 1941, this building was originally a dormitory for policemen who were not married. In 2016 the building was restored and reopened as the Wood Art Ecomuseum's Craftsman Story House, where it serves as a space for collecting and displaying the stories and craftsmanship of Daxi's woodcrafters.

Lunar June 24 Story House

This building was originally a grain warehouse built during the Japanese colonial period. In 2021, it reopened as the Lunar June 24 Story House, dedicated to promoting Daxi's unique annual cultural tradition of Lord Guan's birthday celebration.

Arts & Crafts Center, Arts & Crafts Exchange Hall

The Arts & Crafts Center is in the repurposed third unit of a six-unit dormitory. It is used as a space for resident craftspeople, featuring a classroom, a woodcraft classroom room, and a crafts education room.

Getting There

Take Your Own Vehicle

  • Take National Highway No.3 and get off at Daxi Exchange. Drive along Yuanlin Road, Section 1, then Jieshou Road to Daxi. Cross Wuling Bridge and go straight up Kangzhuang Road. Turn right on Zhongzheng Road and drive all the way to the end to Zhongzheng Park.
  • Take National Highway No.3 and get off at Pingzhen Exchange. Get onto No. 66 East-West Expressway (the terminal of Daxi) and get off to drive along Yuanlin Road, Section 1, then Jieshou Road to Daxi. Cross Wuling Bridge and go straight up Kangzhuang Road. Turn right on Zhongzheng Road and drive all the way to the end to Zhongzheng Park.

Parking Services

  • Daxi Bridge Parking by the mouth of Daxi Bridge (15 spaces available for large-size vehicles, and 418 spaces for small passenger sedans).
    Walk across Daxi Bridge, take the panorama elevator to reach Zhongzheng Park. It’s a 10-minute walk.
  • Yuemei Parking (8 spaces available for large-size vehicles, and 130 spaces for small passenger sedans).

※Roads in Old Town Daxi are rather narrow, and cars can easily back up; drivers are encouraged to leave their vehicles in Daxi Bridge Parking or Yuemei Parking.

Take the bus to Daxi Station and Daxi Terminal Station. Walk for five minutes to reach the Ecomuseum.

Taoyuan High Speed Rail Station

  • Take Daxi Express of Taiwan Trip Bus Route 501

Taoyuan Train Station

  • Take Bus Route 5096 with service from Taoyuan to Daxi (passing by Gengliaojiao), Bus Route 5096A with service from Taoyuan to Daxi (passing by Gengliaojiao) (traveling through Taoyuan Front Station), Taiwan Trip Route 502 Little Wulai Route service (available on holidays).

Zhongli Train Station

  • Take Bus Route 5098 with service (passing by Guanlchue) from Zhongli to Daxi, or Bus Route 5112 with service from Daxi to Zhongli (passing by Bade).

MRT Yongning Station

  • Take Bus Route 710 with service from Daxi to MRT Yongning Station, or Bus Route 710A with service from Daxi to MRT Yongning Station.

MRT Lingkou Station

  • Take Bus Route 720 with service from Daxi to Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital

Yingge Train Station

  • Take Bus Route 5101 with service from Daxi to Yingge (passing by Zhongxin)
