This summer, Daxi's beloved "second Lunar New Year" comes to Yilan!
For the first time, the 2026 Daxi Daxi Festival Cultural Theatre travels to the Yilan Center for Traditional Arts, bringing the traditions of Welcoming the 24th Day of the Sixth Lunar Month beyond Daxi. As the sounds of Beiguanmusic and ceremonial drums echo from the banks of the Dahan River to the Dongshan River, and Daxi's towering deity figures make their way through Wenchang Street, the folk traditions of two historic towns come together in celebration.
Visitors can enjoy the cultural theatre production Siūnn Guán Siàu-liân Sî (Thinking of Our Younger Days), the spectacular Grand Procession of Four Community Associations, hands-on experiences with Daxi's traditional performance troupes, as well as local snacks and festival merchandise from Daxi.
More than a performance, this is a cultural journey into the heart of Daxi—its faith, traditions, and vibrant festival spirit.
Follow the rhythms of Beiguan, ceremonial drums, and towering deity figures as you experience the warmth of Daxi's old streets and the enduring traditions of Welcoming the 24th Day of the Sixth Lunar Month at the Yilan Center for Traditional Arts.
