In this hands-on workshop, participants will create a small suona (Chinese double-reed horn) using simple materials such as drinking straws. Through the process, you will explore how sound resonance works, how the instrument is constructed, and how the mouthpiece is formed and selected.
By building and playing your own straw suona, you will gain a deeper understanding of the instrument’s structure, its sound-producing principles, and the basics of traditional wind instrument performance.
