The centenary Shetou culture of Daxi is noted for its colorful flair and vibrant flags and banners.

The primary deity, the name of the temple, title of the procession and an auspicious logo are embroidered onto the banner first. These ornately-embroidered banners are either held up high by strongmen or hoisted atop of the vehicle during temple fairs and processions, to add to the fanfare and spotlight the design.

In this documentary, the banners are put on the centerstage as different Shetou’s tell their stories; the types and purposes of the banners are treated as a documentary milestone.
