Are you aware of the mystique surrounding the craft of buddha statue-making?
Statue-making refers literally to the craft of creating effigies of deities. This traditional craft combines woodcarving and lacquering. The process is shrouded in mystique since it’s mostly passed down from the elders of the family to their offspring. No apprentices from the outside are accepted. This workshop features the making of a tumbler, taken from “roughcasting” of the statue-making craft, and a postcard foiling workshop, inspired by the “gold foiling” process. Join the fun of creating your signature craft and becoming an amateur lifestyle craftsman!
